I was looking for a baby Tui on the Internet but nothing came up. No wonder I had trouble identifying the baby bird found in our school grounds!
I looked through my photos and..... Is this the only baby Tui photo around?

I also have a short video of him finally eating on his own.

I fed him a mixture of apple sauce, cockateil rearing food and some cat food. Thought I would cover all bases. He didnt really like eating from the ground - and when I put grass onto the bottom of the cage he really didn't like it at all.

Putting him into my avairy with my cockateils was the next step so he could fly. I believed he was a Starling because of the awesome black, green feathers.

Once again he would not go onto the ground but started chasing insects.

Then one day around Christmas time he grew some white feathers on his throat.. Look at my blog in  May 2017 and see him having a bath - he loved it so much the cockateils kept running out of drinking water!
